Oodles of kittens!

Weeell. I found, somewhere, a pattern for a flat-knit cat plush.
Yeah, cue me spazzing. Haha. I canNOT handle DPNs to save my life.
If I can remember the source I'll put the pattern. <3

The verrrry first one I made was the grey and white, based on my best-friend-from-New-Orleans-but-currently-in-Atlanta's cat, Iommi.

I'm not crazy about his face though.

Here he is at his new home!

Then these two I made for my two stepcousins who are currently preggers. My mom said to put rattles in them, but unfortunetly the rattles were giant which made them, especially the slightly smaller blue (sport weight yarn instead of worsted) not very cuddly. :/

I've got the body parts knitted for one so far. Then the tail and part of the head for another. :D I hope to give them to cat-owning family members this Christmas.

RESPECT MAH AUTHORITAH.

Yes.
Yes that IS a Cartman hat.
I tried to make it look as close to Cartman's hat on the show as I could. Haha.
A few rows of 1x1 ribbing in yellow then stockinette in turqoise. Attached is a pompom in a fluffy yellow yarn. I didn't want it to look exactly like a yellow version of Stan's because on the cartoon it looks less yarn-y than Stan's, you know?

Stan Marsh? More like Stan DARSH.

So pretty much anyone who knows me knows of my love for all things South Park.
It was just a matter of time before I tackled the hats.
So obviously, Stan's hat. 8D
It doesn't look too great in the photos from the flash.
Ah well.
1x1 rib in red then stockinette in blue. The most complicated part was the pompom. Haha.

Another new hat!

I don't know if it's because I don't have the stress of school or what, but I've just been cranking out hats like mad!
The yarn was a bit odd... It's stretchy and doesn't like to keep its shape very well. It's also weirdly shiny. But it made for a comfy slouchy hat. Just a simple 2x2 rib to prevent the annoying stockinette curl then stockinette. :D

Hm... what yarn to attack next?

Black hat

Apologies for the shitty image quality.
This actually looks quite nice in reality.
The photo was taken with the brim rolled, personally I prefer the brim rolled down so it's a bit roomier.
I managed to knit a good-sized hat in a day though. :D I've gotten faster~
(Though the fact that I have no life helps too.)

Slouchy Hat

(Click for full-view)

:D New hat!

Used this awesome yarn I got from a yardsale. Self-striping yarn makes me a happy panda.

The pattern I used can be found here: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter09/PATTshroom.php

And isn't my new styrofoam head badass?!

Hannah's beanie

This, ladies and gents, is my very best friend! :D
I recently discovered that she WILL indeed wear hats.
She asked for a purple/red/blue/green beanie and I delivered. <3
The photo doesn't show the hat very well, but that's because she's 5'10" and I was sitting down. I am lazy. :D

A few rows of 1x1 ribbing, then stockinette. Changed colours every 10 rows. (I HATE counting rows with hats. xP)

Alpaca fingerless gloves

These were one of the first pairs of fingerless gloves I made. :O Knitted in garter, 100% Alpaca that my mom spun. The only bad thing about the yarn was it still had quite a bit of debris (straw and dried grass and such).

Mom's hat and fingerless gloves

Ah, a set I knitted for mom months ago. :3
The hat has a bit of 2x2 ribbing then just stockinette. The gloves are garter straight across.

Blue/grey fingerless gloves

Made these ages ago. Just a simple garter stitch and sewed up the side. 100% Wool my mom spun that we bought from the farmer down the road. :D

Knitted change purse

A simple garter stitch change purse I'd knitted up awhile ago for my mom. A button will eventually be sewed to it, but for now this is how it looks.

Two Recent Hats

Hello thar. :D

Recently knitted up a couple of hats with some scrap yarn I'm trying to use up.

First was this, which I fondly refer to as a "Johnny hat". Johnny being my 19 year-old brother. He's always had an article of clothing with this colouring scheme.

Next was this, slightly thicker yarn that I got while on a thrift store "tour" with the Maleys (who've essentially adopted me over the past year).

I'm just playing around with different striping and lengths of the brim. :D
I got a LOT of great yarn today at a garage sale for a pretty good deal. I'm looking forward to making some things with it.

Currently working on:
  • Simple garter stitch fingerless gloves from teal Merino wool for Mom for Mother's Day
  • Scrap afghan
  • Black shrug in this really soft acryllic
  • The Transformers square of Melanie's Christmas quilt
  • Well, there's the beginnings of a turquoise sweater that keep staring at me but...

I wanna play with my new yarn damnit.
